my athens fashion
If you live in Athens, GA, you have undoubtedly already heard of My Athens.
In 2013, #my_athens quickly became the most popular Instagram tag for college kids and townies alike, but fewer people realize that My Athens also supports the Athens Area Habitat for Humanity.
So, in addition to loving My Athens' cause, I'm so excited that they are amping up the My Athens Fashion presence this year - with a separate Instagram account / hashtag AND a killer fashion show coming up this Sunday.
I've heard a lot of buzz about the show amongst my peers and local businesses already because it will feature so many great Athens shops:
Atomic, Agora, Cheeky Peach, Community, Dynamite, Encore, Flirt, and Red Dress Boutique.
Like dzaaaang.
The best part is that this year's theme, Projections, revolves around film-inspired fashion!
And costuming just happens to be one of my favorite things.
But also, a few people have asked me why the tickets are so expensive. I have two answers for you:
1. Not only is this amazing event going to be in a really cool space (the Stan Mullins Art Studio on Pulaski),
with really cool music (DJ Immuzikation),
and DRANKS (Creature Comforts & The National),
and clothing from 8 boutiques on the runway
- all of these things cost $money$ -
but also, the show will benefit Athens Habitat! Hence the price.
You can buy tickets here, by the way.
2. I'm giving away a pair of two FREE general admission tickets!! :D
So you should enter the drawing by following My Athens Fashion (CLICK HERE <3) and little ole me (CLICK HERE TOO <3) on Instagram, and then comment on this blog post or on my Instagram post stating what your favorite My Athens Instagram look has been thus far.
Happy commenting!
