new romantics: valentine's day with my boyfriend (jeans)
I love Valentine's Day! I always have. It may or may not have to do with the fact that I've had a boyfriend on every Valentine's Day since 6th grade... (Serial monogamy. I’m guilty of it and I started young. No regrets. But I also don't recommend it.)
But this year I am single, ready to mingle, crisp like a Pringle (wut...? I don’t know), and I couldn't be more excited about Valentine's Day!
REASONS V DAY IS AWESOME, single or not:
- I am a sap and I believe in love. Even the Hallmark card cheeseball Valentine’s Day kind of love. I LOVE LOVE. When Harry Met Sally is one of my favorite movies and I basically believe in fairy tales. I’m still waiting for my modern-day Prince Charming to sweep me off my feet and take me to his Upper East Side penthouse/castle. I’ll keep you posted on that one.
- While single, I get to spend a whole day being my own Valentine aka doing whatever the heck I want aka Treat Yoself 2015 am I right ladies
- I don't have to worry about whether or not a current boyfriend has caught on to the fact that all I want this Valentine’s Day is: breakfast in bed, expensive jewelry, lots of Hershey’s milk chocolate, a starlit picnic with gourmet food that he cooked himself, a full body massage (no funny stuff), and to spend the night watching a combination of Audrey Hepburn, Disney princesses, and other sappy rom coms of my choosing... They usually don't get it right. I can't imagine why.
- & last but not least: I WILL BE WEARING MY NEW BOYFRAND JEANS THAT I AM IN LOVE WITH.
It’s a touching story, really. I spotted these American Eagle jeans from across the aisle at TJ Maxx. In awe, I wandered over and found that this lone pair had been waiting just for me- they were my size, the right color, and just enough rip in the legs. It was a match made in heaven :’) We’re going to be spending all of Valentine’s Day together and I can’t wait <3
